Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions section of the Special Application! If you haven't already done so, please read the requirements thread for special applications - (http://narkili.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=specialwolfapplications&action=display&thread=194) as well as the measurement requirements for a "normal" character (http://narkili.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=513).
If you have any questions about Special Character Applications, please read through this thread carefully. It is a list of FAQs that we've taken the time to answer. If, after you've read this thread, you still have a question, then please feel free to post it under the Inquiries Thread. As well, please check back here often. New FAQs will be posted as they come up.
I'm having a little trouble understanding the requirements section, could you please explain it a bit further?
No problem! The easiest way to explain it is this - if your character is ANYTHING other then a normal animal found in our dream (ie - longer fangs then what is listed in the measurements requirements or a wolf with super sonic hearing) then you will require a special character application.
How long will I have to wait before my application is accepted or denied?
There is no definite time frame; however, the more you're around and the more active you are the better chance you have for your application to be accepted. If you're already active, your application could be accepted within minutes. If not, it may take up to a week to receive a decision.
Is it ok to roleplay my special character before my application has been accepted?
The short answer, no. However let me elaborate on this one. You may roleplay the character (ie - Raven Claws), however you may NOT roleplay the character with the special powers (ie - Raven Claws with super sonic vision).
What is the point of having special characters in AWW?
We would like to encourage imagination and creativity within the dream, BUT to a certain point. The dream's owner (Narkili) has put in restrictions and measurements requirements for the dream, and you're free to create a character within those specifications. Those specifications have been put there for a reason - to prevent Godmodding and unfair roleplays.
My application got rejected. can i repost a new one?
You may repost your application but only after corrections have been made. Your application was rejected for a reason; however, if you correct the aspects that were not permittable you definitely can submit it once more. If you would like some advice on how to improve your application, feel free to ask any staff member!
Can I use my special character to win all of the fights I'm in?
Definately NOT! Special characters aren't meant to be all powerful and unbeatable. They're meant to be creative, to help expand roleplay and your imagination. "Specialness" may NOT be used to much of an advantage in roleplay fights.
I want to play a special character but I'm not entirely sure if it violates something listed on the requirements page. What should I do?"
If you're unsure as to whether or not a character you want to play would somehow not be permitted then the best thing to do would be to post your question under the Inquiries. This way staff can take a look and get back to you with either a green light to post your application or some other constructive feedback, if it would not be permittable, so that you can still submit an application and role play your character."
What do you mean by having equal advantages/disadvantages?
What we mean is this - for each and every advantage you list for your character, you must list an equal disadvantage. By equal, I mean something that would slow down or even harm your character. The following is an example of an UNFAIR list:
Advantages - 6 inch claws, 8 inch fangs, twice as fast as a normal wolf.
Disadvantages - Sleeps a lot, needs to eat before fighting, black fur make him overheat quickly
As you can clearly see, that's a powerhouse player and that sort of application would NOT be accepted. The following is an example of a FAIR list:
Advantages - 3 inch claws, wings can be used for a LIGHT defense, extra long tail aids in balance while running
Disadvantages - Claws are blunt and/or brittle, large wings slow down character's reaction times during a fight, long tail is not whip-like, thus it's an easy target in a battle.
You see? This is a fair and balanced character. Hope that helps!
