Hm, well as I'm looking at the board for special wolfs, it kinda makes me aggravated. Think about it, there are what like, seven pages of apps, and each page holds ten apps. That means there are roughly 140 players here with special players? In my opinion, thats a lot of player, and I don't think I've ever come on and seen even 100 players on the dream at one time. Now, I'm not at all saying having special players are bad, but we should really limit that to active players. It's not really fair if we let people get to play their special player if they only use it once because they feel like helping thier friend in a fight, and we never see them again. x3 My solution, I think you should try making an active chek or something for anyone with a special player. Just maybe make a threat, and once a month ask them to drop a line and say they're still around. That way, the boards will be less clogged up, and it'll be easier to see who is really using their players.
I dunno, maybe other people don't mind having incative people keep their players, but I must say, it's a bit odd to think there are about 100 people who aren't even around anymore and filling up the board and slowing down your site. :/

I do agree that the special wolf forum does need a bit of clean-up.
I also think it may be good to have some kind of requirement that states, "You must be regularly active within the dream for at least a month before you can be permitted to apply for a special wolf."
There's really no problem with applying and then role playing in other dreams, but I agree, when you apply and then disappear ... it does suck up a lot of board space because I'm sure Nark saves the applications for reference when need-be.

A very good suggestion. I noted a few days ago the number of special wolf apps was getting up there. Some apps are posted by players whom haven't been around in quite some time. We'll work on a way to get rid of old applications, and develop a method to keep track of active players with special apps. Thanks for the suggestion!

I could make it that they need atleast 100 posts on the forum to have their app accepted, I have no way of monitoring how often they are online, but by forum posts you can tell that they are pretty dedicated.

Forum posts are a good idea, but they'd have to be productive posts...not just a "yeah" or "huhzuh" in response to another post. Perhaps we need to make better use of the packs section in the forum...or the Wolf RP section. Yeah..that would be a good idea. To show they were active in the dream, they could copy and paste an rp of theirs every couple of days for a month or so.
PLUS...after a player has applied for a special app and been accepted for it. Maybe once every couple of weeks the players who have been accepted could bump their special app to show they are still active.

Yeah, I really liked the idea of having them post RP logs or something, that way it'll be obvious if they're just making a player and then sitting around OOCly and waiting to pick fights, or if they're actually using the player productively. Of course, not all of are in packs - like myself - so we can't really post on pack boards and such, but yeah, showing logs and all sounds like a great idea.
Andd thanks for considering it guys!<3

You're very welcome Sed. Since this has turned into such a productive talk, I've decided to move it to the ideas/sections of the forums.

I think that an activity check is an excellent idea for the special wolves. Though I haven't been 'around' AWW, since my pack has since been disbanded, I would love to post on the forums instead if that's a possible requirement. Furc itself is losing its pull for me personally, but I will always use forums as a way of communicating/roleplaying, no matter where I am. On the other hand, I believe that 100 posts is a bit much to ask for. It would take a long, long time to reach that amount, even with the short and meaningless posts... I would suggest maybe 50 if you insist on using the forum posts as a way of telling who is really dedicated. It would still take a long while to get up to that point with roleplay posts alone, but it would be an excellent goal. Kinshe (my special) is very dear to me, and even roleplaying him at all would be a delight, no matter the circumstances. I wish the staff the best of luck in finding a solution to this problem, and I gladly offer any help or advice.

I disagree with you needing 100 posts to become 'special'. It would encourage spam, as well as take a long time. But it would seem kind of pointless, sense the point is being on AWW, not the forums. It should be by how active you actually are in the game. I don't know what else to say though, as you can't exactly easily track their activeness unless you were the one actually playing with them. Bah. Well, I hope I made sense XD

A suggestion would be that, before anyone gets accepted, they need to be recommended for activity in the dream by a certain amount of players, to confirm activity and whatnot, and then have active players monitor their activity on the special character for whatever amount of time. May seem a bit far fetched and encourage creepers though xD
