I have one tip for any pupil and teacher alike, because this is the cause of absolute Role Play Destruction (RPD). Wolf-speak is taking a word, like ‘orb’ and making it resemble another word; in this case, ‘eye’. The logic of any and all Wolf-Speakers (also known as wolf-scripters) is that this will make them look smarter.
If you want to look literate and intelligent, then I suggest you learn proper English. Talons, claws, pillars, bodice, and pendulum (other fine examples of raped words) can be used properly.
Talon – 1. A hooked claw, especially a bird of prey. 2.) something that looks like a claw, e.g. a curled human finger. 3.) the part of a lock that the key presses when turned and that causes the bolt to slide out. 4.) architecture. 5.) CARD GAMES in some card games, e.g. solitaire, the remainder of the deck of cards after a deal.
Claw – 1.) a pointed curved nail on the end of each toe in birds and some reptiles. 2.) an appendage used for grasping in crabs and other invertebrates. 3.) something resembling a claw in shape or function, e.g. a mechanical grabbing device.
Pillar – 1.) a vertical column that is part of a building or other structure and can be either a support or decoration. 2.) something that is tall and slender like a pillar. 3.) a mainstay of an organization or society.
Bodice – 1.) the part of a woman’s dress or undergarment that covers the upper body. 2.) a close-fitting, often laced-up top worn over a blouse in the past or as part of some national costumes.
Pendulum – 1.) a weight hung from a fixed point so that it can swing freely back and forth under the influence of gravity. 2.) a rod with a weight at it’s base that swings from side to side and controls the mechanism of a clock. 3.) something that changes its direction or position regularly, often alternating between two extremes.
So you can see where these wolf-speakers are coming from in some of those examples, right? But that doesn’t make wolf-speak correct. Sure, Role Play however you want – but being better isn’t shredding words and destroying RP and the English language.
